Amazon.com Review
Inner Child Cards bring charming, fairy-tale images to the age-old tradition of the tarot. Authors and professional astrologers Isha and Mark Lerner intended to offer a fresh, innocent perspective on tarot readings while also staying grounded in recognizable archetypes. And what better way to tap into our true spirit than to recall the soul-inspiring stories of childhood? "Fairy stories, told and retold, enrich the depths of our hearts from which our hopes and ideals are born," the authors explain. "No other literary creation has such a fundamental effect upon us than has the fairy tale." Indeed, Little Red Riding Cap with her basket of goodies and her outstretched finger holding a butterfly speaks eloquently to the fragile process of individuation. The Rapunzel card with its maiden's long braid (which is eventually shorn by the evil enchantress) and the blind prince speaks to challenging times when we are cut loose from the strands of our past and must go forward in blind faith. All of the cards are lovely, with their rich images and rainbow borders. But it is the excellent accompanying text that offers readers the most enchanting journey into the past as they make meaning out of the present. --Gail Hudson

(Dawn Baumann Brunke, Alaska Wellness, November/December 2001)"It gives an especially clear reflection of the child within and imaginative access to the soul's own personal truth." (Arizona networkingNews, June/July 2002)"Aside from being a lovely deck, it's a great tool for getting your inner child and higher self to connect." (Aquarius, October 2002)"A delightful odyssey. The images and stories of childhood become an enchanting guide for inner reflection." This deck for it's content is worth a million stars, the artwork and writing is deeply healing and my daughter and I are already starting to fight over them a. Which brings up the reason for the awful one star review that I am writing: The quality of this set is so flimsy and poor, it breaks my heart to say I am upset to have spent $30 on them. Had I researched the comments first I would not have bothered and looked for a used. My friend has an older set that felt much more durable. I would return the entire lot if I could, but my daughter and I already fell in love with the oracle, so now I am going to gift the set to her, so I wont be upset when she crunches them up ( yes they are that thin ). And I hope they change remedy this easy fix to make their cards great again.
Love working with these cards. I have since 2009. I purchased these for my daughter. The best thing you can do for yourself when purchasing the Inner Child Tarot cards is to buy the seperate workbook. You will not be sorry. The workbook will give you a better/deeper spiritual understanding as you seek your Truth.
The artwork on these cards is vivid and beautiful. The guidebook is amazing as well. However, the card stock is so very thin that I returned the set, for fear that if I ever actually used the cards, I would ruin them after one use. They are so thin that I would not even call them cards. I know of several people who have an older printing of the cards, and their cardstock was fine. But this newer version is utterly too thin. I was so disappointed, as the artwork is just amazing.
I am terminally ill, and I purchased these to see if they could be a form of comfort & guidance. First of all I have never seen a more beautiful set of tarot cards. The artwork is just amazing, from the ornate and delicate borders to the central images. Each and every card is so highly intuitive: you could pull any card and just gaze and gaze at it and find so many meanings and surprises. Large sized cards, but they are easy to shuffle using the side-by-side technique. The very large guidebook that comes with the cards takes you by the hand and gently into the cards and its world of tender, humane fairytales. It has helped me immeasurably as a sorce of comfort, guidance, tenderness in my illness.. I would recommend these to ANYONE who is: ill or elderly, or trying to recover from an emotional trauma of some sort (divorce, bad relationship, loss of loved one, etc.) These cards are a godsend.
I have around 20 Tarot decks and I got this one in just this week. I have to say it is one of my very favorite decks already. The artwork is brilliant and almost child-like, but beautifully enlightening. The suits are hearts (cups), crystals (pentacles), magic wands (wands) and swords. The cards relate to characters from well-known fairy tales. The Fool card is Little Red Riding Hood. The accompanying book very succinctly and eloquently describes the meaning/tales behind each card. It's a very positive, uplifting and upbeat deck. I did the five card C-H-I-L-D reading (described in the book) this morning and it was right-on, as if the cards had known me from the get-go. I don't think I've ever gotten such a wonderful first-time reading from a new deck.I have to disagree with the reviewer who said this deck isn't for beginners. I think this deck stands alone and that anyone could quickly learn the basics of Tarot with it.The cards are over-sized but easy to shuffle diagonally. They come in a sturdy storage box which holds the cards and book nicely. I highly recommend this set if you're ready to learn more about yourself and this journey we call life.
This is a great book and card set. I have a few sets of cards but never settled on a Tarot that I liked or properly understood. The authors have done a lot of research and put a lot of goodness into this set. Each time I open the book I feel empowered and learn continually. Love the artwork and the easy to follow descriptions, while it takes a while to get to read for others the authors have a way of putting it together.
Okay I had to take one star away because the cards are so beautiful they deserve to be on better card stock! :( So disappointing when you shuffle for the first few times you end up shedding the sides. I wish I could laminate them or something to make them stronger! They completely changed the major arcana but it's so interesting and if you love fairytales you'll fall in love with the designs and meanings. It's a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it you won't be able to tear away!
This Fairy Tale Deck is Incredible!!!! I love this deck so much!!!! The Cards are beautiful!!!! I love how every card has a story!!!! I will buy more Fairy Tale Themed Tarot Decks so I hope more Fairy Fairy Tale Themed Tarot Decks Will be made.
