I liked it and can't wait for number three to come out. I like how the book alternatives between the different group of characters . It is interesting how they manage to handle situations.
As one might expect, the more time that passes after an event, the more 'crazed' regular people become in their activities. More fires, more looting and society begins to crumble more.In book 2, we are introduced to a group of survivors at a country club as well as the crew of ThThe Mako, which is 300 miles off the coast of Australia.Both Harrison and Len as well as Amy and James's treks are filled with despair and deaths as they continue their treks.. DC is also in the middle of crisis after crisis.Looking forward to the next one.Please note that I borrowed this with my KU subscription.Highly recommended.
The first book didn't "set me on fire" but it caught my interest enough to try this 2nd book. However, shortly into this book, I stopped reading it. When US Army privates are saluting corporals, I lost it. In the US Army, enlisted personnel do not salute each other! If the authors get such basic information incorrect, it makes you wonder about everything else. Need to keep it plausible and realistic.If an author can't get the basic information correct it detracts from the storyline as well as makes the book less appealing. I've read and enjoyed other books by Mike Kraus but not this one.
This book focuses primarily on the journeys of the three groups in the aftermath of the CME. While there is plenty of action for each group, they also get a bit of needed character development. I'm starting to like Harrison more and more as the mystery around him becomes clearer. Two of the groups seem destined to converge at some point, but the third it is not so clear how it relates to our main characters. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
The Fall is the second post apocalyptic book in the Solar Crash series written by authors E. S. Richards and Mike Kraus.
Book 2 provided more character development and interest in an already great story line. I can't wait until book 3!
