Want to create jewelry, animals, miniatures or beads and buttons? Then this is the book for you. The photos are instructive, useful and easy to follow, as are the directions.I have no problem in recommending this book to anyone that wants to use polymer clay.
I purchased this book using a Amazon gift card my bestie gave me for my Birthday. The shipment of this book was quite fast ! But what I love the most is what's inside the book. I wouldn't call myself a beginner but more an intermediate-tiny bit advanced skilled Polymer clay artist and this book contains alot of information and techniques some of which I didn't even know about. There's plenty of project ideas and it goes through everything you practically need to know about Polymer Clay techniques. It has lots of beautiful pictures in high detail and is a book that will be useful time and time again as a refresher and to pass on to friends even children who would like to dabble in the art of Polymer clay work. I especially love the page where they compare different Polymer clay brands and rate them by durability and baked results. (-ʌ-) Kinda sad to know my clay brand I use got voted the lowest. Overall this book is a MUST-HAVE whether you're a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skilled this is a book I'd recommend you get !!

I've bought several polymer clay books, and this is one is my favorite. The how-to's are easy to follow, and the pictures are extremely helpful as well. This gem was compiled masterfully, and I reference it often when I have time for hobbies.Within its pages are techniques for mixing, shaping, texturing, imitation (other art-forms such as mosaics), as well as photos of some amazing work by modeling pros.I highly recommend this book - and that's coming from someone who tries to figure out most things on my own, like looking something up would be cheating or weak. It's not, and if you want to make some neat, professional looking artwork out of polymer clay, then this book can help you develop and refine some useful techniques quite quickly.

This is a great starter book for those new to polymer clay, it goes over so many of the different techniques. It can almost be called a dictionary of clay techniques, look up ones you hear about and then try out. I really recommend this book for an overall guide. The directions are easy to follow and you can probably figure out how to change and adapt the techniques to create something new and improved.If you like experimenting and like to see various ways to use polymer clay this is the book to start with! I have a limit amount of money that I can spend on books outside of my school books, and so I am extremely picky on what ones I buy, and this one I feel was a good investment. Its older than some of the other books I have gotten, but in no way is it obsolete. It really is a good backbone for learning.
A worthwhile purchase for your polymer clay library. I have the coffee table books which are great to look at, but as a novice clayer I still need to know basic claying techniques. This book provides step by step instructions with many pictures. Very concise and well written. From my perspective a must have for the budding clay artist.
I like the many diverse techniques outlined by the author for the medium of clay. It was helpful and informative for a novice like myself in getting into the use and effective drying tools needed when using Sculpty clay.
If you're looking for a intermediate guide on getting started with making interesting things out of polymer clay - I would highly recommend this one.I bought this book on recommendation from a friend. I was just looking for a way of making a wood grain look to a project I was doing with polymer clay. So I ordered this book. Not only did I find out how to do the wood grain, I also found out how to do over 50 other things with polymer clay. This book has tips and techniques to do just about anything you can think of - and some you probably couldn't. So if you need a good book to take you to the next level with polymer clay - this would be it.
